(CPV) - The 5th meeting of the Party Central Committee (PCC) (term XII) opens on May 5th, expecting to discuss a wide number of important issues.

(Photo: CPV) Accordingly, PCC members will discuss diverse contents, including completing socialist-oriented market economy institution, renewing and increasing the business efficiency of State-owned enterprises; reviewing 15 years of the implementation of the 5th PCC (Term IX) meeting resolution on continuing to renew policies on encouraging and making favourable conditions for the development of the private economy; reviewing the leadership and direction of the Politburo and Secretariat in 2016 in connection with the implementation of the 4th PCC (term XII) meeting resolution on Party building and rectification; considering the punishment of cadres and some other important issues.
Addressing the meeting, Party leader said that to prepare for the meeting, in October, 2016, the Secretariat established a steering committee on studying, reviewing and developing reports on the issues for submitting to the Politburo and for the discussion of the PCC.
According to the Mr Trong, the Steering Committee has strictly followed the Party political program, especially the 12th National Party Congress resolution, decrees and conclusions of the PCC, Politburo and Secretariat, as well as the national, regional and world situation for developing reports and draft resolutions for submitting them for PCC approval.

“The Politburo has spent an appropriate amount of time to discuss and complete the reports,” he said.
“The Politburo and Secretariat has also strictly reviewed their leadership and direction in 2016 in realizing the 4th PCC (term XII) on Party building and rectification and developed reports for this meeting.”
He stressed that the contents to be discussed during this meeting are of great importance towards the successful realization of the 12th National Party Congress resolution on increasing socio-economic development, as well as Party building and rectification.
He also suggested PCC members raise high their sense of responsibility in discussing and completing the reports.
As planned, the meeting will last until May 10th./.
