Kim Jong-un, DPRK leader was re-elected as chairman of State Affairs Commission

Kim was elected again as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission at the first session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on April 11th, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

According to the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK edited in 2016, the Supreme People's Assembly is the highest organ of state power and the unicameral legislature.

It consists of one deputy from each of the DPRK's 687 constituencies elected to a five-year term. The State Affairs Commission Chairman is the top leader of the country. In March, the 14th Supreme People's Assembly elected 687 deputies./.
