Da Nang inaugurates APEC park

(CPV) - Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh hosted the inauguration ceremony of the APEC Park on the morning of November 9th in Central Da Nang city.

Covering around 3,047 square meters, next to the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture and the Dragon bridge, the project has received the support from the member economies by designing, constructing and sending their sculptures for display.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh emphasized this APEC Park is an effort to expand and deepen understanding of APEC, connecting people-to-people, advancing cultural exchange.

He highly valued the support from APEC members, who sent in selected works of art that showcase the region’s rich cultures and contribute to the overall theme of APEC 2017.

“Located by Han river, at the heart of the dynamic city of Da Nang, the APEC Park is dedicated to you, your economies and your people. My hope it is that it will be a symbol of APEC’s innovation, vigor and spirit of cooperation, and one of the must-visit attraction for traveler in Da Nang”, the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.

On this occasion, Mr Minh and distinguished guests unveiled the stone- carved APEC 2017 logo, planted trees and enjoyed the artistic works meticulously sculptured by talented artisans from APEC economies.

When visiting the APEC Park, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the art pieces representing the uniqueness of each culture, while demonstrating the spirit of cooperation and moving towards a shared future, not only in economic cooperation but also through culture and arts./.
