Ho Chi Minh city to accelerate administrative reform and address traffic congestion

Ho Chi Minh city will focus on accelerating administrative reform and addressing traffic congestion in the second half of this year, as targeted during the 10th meeting of the city Party Committee held from June 27th-28th.

The meeting focused on discussing the implementation of economic, cultural and social development targets for the first half and key solutions for the second half; public investment in the 2016-2020 period; the building of synchronous infrastructure; 10 years of implementation of the city Party Committee’s action plan on accelerating administrative reform; and 5 years of implementation of the 4th PCC (term XI) resolution on Party building, in collaboration with the implementation of the city Party Committee resolution on Party building and rectification, preventing a degradation of political ideology, morality and lifestyle in the Party.

Addressing the meeting, Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member and Secretary of the city Party Committee, asked agencies to continue to accelerate administrative reform and realise the “one-door” mechanism towards investment registration and granting of business registration certificates; focus on fire prevention; and call on investment with equal competition.

He also requested agencies to prevent landslides in river banks to ensure safety for residents.

Regarding Party building and rectification, the city plans to continue to increase the implementation of the PCC Resolution by promoting the role of voters, the city Fatherland Front’s inspection, unions and residents’ complaints and denunciations, to detect signals of degradation of political ideology, morality and style; and to prevent corruption./.
