Increasing Party building in non-State enterprises

Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC Commission for Mass Mobilization on October 18th had a working meeting with the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone in Ho Chi Minh city to review the building of Party and unions in private and foreign invested enterprises.


Over the past five years, the Party Committee of the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone has admitted 137 members from non-State enterprises to the Party, raising the number of Party members to 220, an increase of 222.22% compared to 2011. In addition, 14 trade unions and 29 youth organizations have also been established.

By 2020, the zone Party Committee will strive to admit 120 new Party members, establish 10 Party organizations, admit 400 people to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and introduce 200 outstanding young people to the Party.  

Addressing the meeting, Ms Mai appreciated Party and union building work in enterprises, asking the zone Party Committee to increase the quality of Party activities in enterprises, to reinforce and develop the activities of unions, and to diversify ways to gather young people and workers.

She also urged the zone Party Committee to focus on training cadres doing Party work, and organizing negotiations and dialogues between enterprises and labourers, contributing to protecting the legitimate interests of labourers and enterprises./.
