Innovation, creativity - foundation for economic restructuring: PM

Chairing the third meeting of the socio-economic subcommittee in preparation for the 13th National Party Congress in Hanoi on March 4th, PM Phuc, who is also chairman of the sub-committee, stressed that relevant documents must highlight key missions like stablising macro-economy, controlling inflation, mobilizing resources for development and improving growth quality.

Participants at the event said that despite unpredictable global economic development, the Vietnamese economy has experienced robust growth in recent years, and the focus should be given to the promotion of innovation and creativity to maintain the momentum.

Specific targets should be outlined for socio-economic development in the next ten years, they said, relishing positive prospects for Vietnam’s economy based on the country’s increasing prestige in the international arena.

In this period, all of the plans must show off Vietnam’s desire for prosperity to waken potential of each citizen, they said.

The socio-economic subcommittee, founded to help prepare for the congress slated for early 2021, has been tasked with building a document on the socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030 and another on the socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025. The documents will set up strategic orientations for national development in the next decade./.
