Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Minister of National Defence, attended and delivered a speech at the congress.  

During the congress, the delegates contributed diverse ideas to the draft documents to the 13th National Party Congress and the draft political report to the 11th Military Party Congress.

Over the past 5 years, the zone Party Committee has made exact forecasts on the strategic central and Central Highlands regions, thus giving adequate consultancy and proposals with the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence. It has also strictly worked with other forces to prevent and promptly deal with situations at sea, on air, at border areas and domestic land, cyber and issues relating to non-traditional security; maintained political security, peaceful and stable environment; made favourable condition for localities’ socio-economic development; and contributed to firmly protecting national territorial and sea and island sovereignty. 

According to Major General Truong Thien To, deputy political commissar of the military zone 5, in the next 5 years, the zone Party Committee will focus on increasing the combative strength, being ready to cope with every situation, contributing to maintaining stable political situation, creating peaceful environment, making conditions for localities’ socio-economic development, and raising people’s living standards./.
