Working on the draft Denunciation Law (revised) in the morning, many expressed their concern over the proposals for the reception of denunciations via e-mails, faxes and phone calls.

Vu Hong Thanh, head of the NA’s Economic Committee, cited a case of people using an unregistered SIM card to provide information about illegal coal exploitation, in which some information was correct and some was aimed at fooling authorized agencies.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Chairman of the NA’s Law Committee, explained that the draft law prescribes that those lodging denunciations must provide their personnel information such as name, age and address for the competent agencies.

Personal information of those people should be verified before investigations into the denounced activities, he said.

Concluding the debate, Vice NA Chairman Uong Chu Luu underlined tight regulations on the reception and settlement of denunciations through e-mails, faxes and phone calls.

The draft law also stipulates responsibilities of and sanctions on wrong denunciations or those taking the advantage of denunciation to stir public disorder.

In that spirit, the NA Standing Committee suggested approval for denunciations to be lodged and processed via e-mails, faxes and phone calls and regulations on related procedures must be very tight.

The law-makers also looked into the draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Physical Training and Sports.

They approved the establishment of Tien Chau and Nam Viem wards in Phuc Yen town and Phuc Yen city in the northern province of the same name.

Vice NA Chairman Luu called for the observance of resolutions of the CPV Central Committee’s sixth plenum and the collection of public opinions on the establishment, dissolve, merger, dissolution and adjustment of administrative units in line with regulations of the Law on Organisation of Local Administration./.
