Party and State leaders commemorate heroic martyrs

To mark the 69th year of the Day for Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs, a delegation of the Party Central Committee, State President, National Assembly, Government and Vietnam Fatherland Front on July 27th laid a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial to commemorate heroic martyrs, and paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh.

Attendants at the ceremony were Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; State President Tran Dai Quang, former State President Tran Duc Luong; Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, former NA Chairmen Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Sinh Hung; and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan.

High-ranking leaders and former high-ranking leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front; Politburo members, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee, Vice State President, NA Vice Chairpersons, Deputy Prime Ministers; leaders from Ministries and central agencies; and senior officials also joined the delegation.

The delegation’s wreath ran letters showing their deep gratitude to heroic martyrs, commemorating those who bravely sacrificed and devoted their lives for the struggle for national independence, freedom and reunification.

After that, the delegation paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, showing their respect and commemoration with the talented leader and the hero of national liberation.

On the same day, delegations from the Ministries of National Defence; Public Security; and Labor, War-Invalids and Social Affairs; and the Hanoi People’s Committee, also laid wreaths to commemorate the martyrs and pay homage to President Ho Chi Minh.

For national independence, freedom and reunification, for peace and happiness of the people and the prosperity of the fatherland, millions of Vietnamese people, mainly young people, sacrificed their youth and lives to serve the nation.

Vietnamese people remember their sacrifice forever. Over the past several decades, the Party and State have paid great attention to care for the spiritual and material lives of wounded soldiers, martyrs’ relatives and revolutionary contributors./.
