Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, has been appointed as Secretary of the Central Military Commission in the 2015 - 2020 tenure.

The appointment is part of the decision of the Politburo, which was announced by Pham Minh Chinh, a Politburo member, member of PCC Secretariat, and Head of the PCC Commission for Organisation in Hanoi on May 10th.
The 2015-2020 Central Military Commission has 23 members.
General Ngo Xuan Lich, a Politburo member and Minister of National Defence, is Vice Secretary.
Meanwhile, Politburo member and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is a member of the Commission’s standing committee./.
