So said Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC, and Head of the PCC Commission for Organization, and NA deputy during a meeting with voters in Ha Long city of the northern province of Quang Ninh on August 3rd, to inform them of the first session of the 14th NA and listen to voters’ ideas and aspirations.
According to Mr. Chinh, the NA reviewed the election of deputies to the 14th NA and People’s Council at all levels term 2016-2021 as well as the eligibility of NA deputies.
In terms of personnel work, the NA elected NA Chairperson, four NA Vice Chairpersons, 13 members of the NA Standing Committee, State President, Vice State President, Prime Minister, President of the People’s Supreme Court, President of the People’s Supreme Procuracy, Chairperson of the NA Ethnic Minority Council, Chairpersons of the nine NA Committees, NA Secretary-General, and State Bank of Vietnam Governor; and decided on the structure of the Government.
In addition, resolutions on law-making programs in 2016 and 2017 and on the inspection of the NA were adopted by the NA.
Regarding the Government’s report on realising socio-economic development tasks in 2015 and in the first half of this year, NA deputies pointed out weaknesses in each sector and each field of development, asking the Government to carry out more effective solutions for successful realization of socio-economic development targets in the remaining months of the year.
Talking with voters, Mr. Chinh showed his pleasure with Quang Ninh province’s and Ha Long city’s achievements in boosting socio-economic development, reinforcing defence and security, and cutting out waste in personnel work.
He pledged to do his utmost to realise all tasks assigned by voters to satisfy their trust.
Attending the meeting with Mr. Chinh, voters expressed their happiness with what were reached in the first session of the 14th NA, saying that they hoped the NA would further promote their role to lead the country in realising set missions./.
