PM to talk with farmers for 3rd time

After direct dialogues with localities’ farmers, the Prime Minister has recognized and tackled many issues.

The meeting on Prime Minister's dialogue with farmers is an annual activity hosted by the Vietnam Farmers’ Association Central Committee. The first was held in April 2018 in Hai Duong province with the participation of 800 delegates and farmers, dealing with the topic "Removing obstacles; streamlining motivating force; Continuing 30 years of renewal”.

The second took place in December 2019 in Ho Chi Minh city, drawing the participation of 600 delegates and farmers, in order to help farmers remove obstacles, linking 6 houses, creating agricultural value chains".

This early August, the event will be organized in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak’s Buon Ma Thuot city, with the attendance of some 600 delegates and the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Notably, the meeting will see the participation of over 300 outstanding farmers representing more than 14 million farmer households across the country.

According to Mr. Luu Quang Dinh, Editor-in-chief of Nong thon ngay nay newspaper and Deputy Head of the meeting Organizing Committee, the meeting this year will cover the theme “Central-Central Highlands - Overcoming challenges, increasing agricultural value, helping prosperous agriculture, wealthy farmers, modern and advanced rural areas".

"With the above topic, this year the questions sent to the Prime Minister focus on boosting sustainable agricultural development, building rural infrastructure, raising incomes and cultural life of groups in the Central and Central Highlands regions," said Mr. Dinh.

Based on the dialogue, the Prime Minister will consider and decide solutions to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles so that farmers can resume their production and business activities; and overcoming the bad consequences caused by COVID-19, promoting farmers’ creativity, contributing to the successfully restoring agricultural production and business.

At the conference, the Prime Minister will also direct ministries and branches to quickly address the legitimate needs of farmers and businesses.

So far, the Organizing Committee has received more than 1,500 different questions sent to the meeting./.
