On July 30, in Ho Chi Minh city, Group 1 was chaired by Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Politburo member and Prime Minister, together with Politburo members and Secretaries of the Party Central Committee (PCC): Tong Thi Phong, Truong Thi Mai, Vo Van Thuong, Ngo Xuan Lich, Nguyen Hoa Binh, Phan Dinh Trac and Nguyen Xuan Thang, who worked with the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Party Committee.
Meanwhile, on July 31, in Hanoi, Group 2 was chaired by Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Politburo member and Chairwoman of the National Assembly, together with Politburo member and PCC Secretaries: Pham Minh Chinh, To Lam, Vuong Dinh Hue, Hoang Trung Hai, Luong Cuong and Nguyen Van Nen, who worked with the Can Tho city Party Committee.
During the meeting, Politburo members and PCC Secretaries contributed ideas to the provincial and city Party Committees’ documents, including the draft political reports to be submitted to the Party Congresses; the draft report on reviewing the leadership of the Party Executive Committees; and personnel work for the new term Party Executive Committees.
They also praised Ba Ria - Vung Tau province’s efforts in making good socio-economic development achievements in difficulties, especially the industrial and service sector accounting for 88.44%, and the processing and manufacturing industry increasing from 52% in 2015 to 85% in 2020. Besides, rapid development has been reported in the province’s key industries such as seaport, tourism and hi-tech agriculture. Meanwhile, adequate attention has been paid to poverty reduction, education, healthcare, security and defence.
Important and comprehensive achievements in Can Tho city were also applauded, including its high average economic growth rate of 7.53% per year; economic scale of VND120 trillion, 1.63 times compared to 2015; rapid development in trade and service; progress in social and cultural life; improvements in people’s material and spiritual lives; and important results in Party and political system building.
After the meeting, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and Can Tho city will continue to complete draft documents and personnel work for preparing the organization of the Party Congresses term 2020-2025./.
