The June 26th-28th visit to the Republic of Belarus, his first stop, comes at the invitation of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Based on the reinforced political-diplomatic relationship as well as improved cooperation in other fields between the two countries, Vietnam views this visit as being of great importance.

Two-way trade reached USD94.5 million in 2016 and USD37.7 million in the first quarter of 2017. Vietnam mainly exports seafood, garment-textile, woodwork, footwear, rice, natural rubber, peanut, cashew, tea, medicine, and computers, while importing fertiliser, machines, automobile spare parts, tractors, vans and chemicals.

Vietnam and Belarus are working closely within the framework of the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Labour partnership is considered a prospect for the two nations’ cooperation. Both sides also look forward to strengthening collaboration in other fields such as security-defence, health care, education, science-technology, culture, information, sports and tourism.

After wrapping up the Belarus visit, President Quang will pay an official visit to Russia from June 28th to July 1st at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin./.
