Secretariat meets with senior retired officials

The Party Central Committee (PCC) Secretariat on August 14th held a meeting with senior retired officials in the Southern region to inform them of the domestic and international situation.


During the meeting, Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, permanent member of the Secretariat, delivered a report on the outstanding situation after the 12th National Party Congress, while Pham Binh Minh, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Tran Hong Ha, PCC member and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, gave a report on the case relating to Formosa Ha Tinh.

Speaking at the meeting, many delegates showed their belief in the leadership of the Party, adding that they wished the Party would continue its building to become really pure and strong. They also raised voices of concern over environmental pollution, the struggle against corruption and waste, the addressing of bad debts, the realization of the equitisation of State-owned enterprises, the maintenance of the national independence and territorial sovereignty, the application of information and technology, as well as reinforcement of cyber security.

Addressing the meeting, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong noted that after the 12th National Party Congress, despite diverse difficulties, the nation had achieved important results in all areas.

According to the Party leader, accurate ways of doing and guidelines have been proved in dealing with activities relating to personnel work, external relations and environmental pollution. “However, many challenges remain, which require the intellect and determination of the whole Party, army and people, including the contributions of former Party and State officials,” he said.

He went on to say that he would make contribution to the general cause of the Party and of the nation in realising 2 strategic missions, including building and protecting the nation in the new situation, and realising the 12th National Party Congress resolution./.
