State President honours city host of APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week

State President Tran Dai Quang and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh have sent letters praising Da Nang city for successfully hosting the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week.

In his letter, the State President confirmed that the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week was held successfully in all areas, becoming an outstanding foreign affairs achievement of the whole Party, people and army this year. “The success is contributed to by ministries, agencies, localities and businesses across the country, including the important contribution from people and soldiers in Da Nang city,” said the State President.

He appreciated and praised the efforts of Da Nang city in making considerate and formal reception for distinguished guests from APEC member economies and from ASEAN member countries, leaving a beautiful impression in international friends’ hearts.

Noting that Da Nang city is one of the localities leading the dynamic and integrated development of the country, the State President expressed his belief that the city would gain more achievements in its building to become a more and more modern and advanced city.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh confirmed that the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week had taken place successfully in both contents and organization work, leaving deep impressions on tens of thousands of international delegates, businesses’ representatives and journalists.

He praised Da Nang city for conducting a great deal of work for the week, including the reception and farewell of delegates at airports, upgrade of infrastructure and roads, organization of multilateral meetings and bilateral talks of leaders, the building of APEC Park, regulation of traffic, and provision and training of contactors and volunteers.

“In particular, the city authority’s and people’s efforts in overcoming the consequences of Storm Damrey to successfully hold the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week deserve much respect,” said Deputy Prime Minister Minh in his letter.

Expressing his thanks to Da Nang city, the Deputy Prime Minister said he believed that Da Nang city would take advantage of the success of the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week to develop more, become a modern and advanced city, and lead in international integration./.
