Over the past 5 years, more than 83,400 members of the VPSU at all levels have given consultancy on cutting over 2,000 administrative procedures, contributing to eliminating bureaucracy and increasing State management efficiency. The supervision of the implementation of the Labour Code and Trade Union Law as well as policies relating to laborers have been increased with over 1,500 inspections having been carried out nationwide and 12 law consultancy meetings having been held for over 2,000 laborers in businesses.

Trade unions have helped equality in the implementation of policies for cadres, officials, officers and laborers. So far a majority of agencies have supported lunch for their staff members, shared difficulties with those living in disadvantaged circumstances. In the previous term, trade unions mobilised nearly VND20 billion for humanitarian activities.

Addressing the Congress, Ms Mai praised the organization for making contribution to national development.

She urged the organization to renew its operation for realizing its function in caring for and protect cadres, officials’, officers’ and laborers’ interests; promoting the role of its staff members in implementing the 4th PCC meeting resolution (term XII) on Party building and rectification; and preventing and pushing back a degradation on political ideology, morality and lifestyle in the Party.

During the Congress, delegates reached a concensus to increase the quality of consultancy to law making, better protection of cadres, officials, officers’ and laborers’ legitimate interests, better education for cadres, officials and officers to meet the demand of the nation’s increased industrialization and modernization and international integration, and increase the quality of emulation movements./.
