Australian and New Zealand Prime Ministers arrive in Da Nang

On November 9th, two special aircraft, carrying Australian Prime Minister Australia Malcolm Turnbull and female New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, landed consecutively in Da Nang International Airport, beginning the activities of the Asia - Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

Earlier, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha and Da Nang leaders welcomed Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the airport.

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will attend a number of important activities at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.

New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Arden’s special aircraft landed at Da Nang International Airport at 18h20 on November 9th.

Ms. Ardern is the youngest leader attending APEC 2017 in Vietnam. She is the only representative in the leader group under 39 years old.

Established in 1989, APEC comprises 21 economies, including Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the US and Vietnam.

Vietnam joined APEC in 1998, and hosted APEC in 2006./.
