On the occasion of lunar New Year 2020, diverse interesting activities will take place at Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Son Tay town, Hanoi, which is known as “Common house” of ethnic minority groups.

Before the lunar new year, activities such as spring in Muong ethnic village, festivities of Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province and performances of songs on Spring have been held.
Activities of preparing and decorating the space to celebrate lunar new year are taking place every day. They include hanging pictures of Uncle Ho and the national flag and decorating the house space in accordance with each ethnic groups on the occasion of the traditional new year. Gates, surrounding spaces, entrances and spaces for folk games are decorated with flowers and trees. A program on chung cake making for the poor is also held.
Spiritual activities will take place at pagodas in the village at the new year eve and on the first day of the lunar month and especially on the fifth day of the first lunar month.
Traditional folk games are promoted to introduce visitors such as throwing games, jumping, stilts, tug of war, seesaw, swinging. Ethnic people will instruct tourist experience the joy of spring atmosphere.
In particular, the activities on spring festival of all regions nationwide 2020 will honour cultural identities of Vietnamese ethnic groups./.
