Activities to mark poet Pushkin’s birthday in Hanoi

On the occasion of the birthday of Russian Poet Alexandr Sergeevich Pushkin, on June 6th, in Hanoi, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture held the Pushkin Gala Dinner.

The event was in the framework of Russian Language Week in Vietnam from June 5th to 9th, 2017.

According to director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Vietnam Natalia Valerievna Shafinskaia, on June 6th, 2011, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin signed a decree on the establishment of Russian Language Day on the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexandr Sergeevich Pushkin, every June 6th. Accordingly, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Vietnam has held many activities on this occasion.

This year, the gala included art performances by Vietnamese and Russian students, and a photo exhibition on Pushkin. This helps visitors get acquainted with Russian culture and study Russian literature, contributing to promoting understanding between the people of the two countries.

On this occasion, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Vietnam also presented awards to the winners of the contest on Alexandr Sergeevich Pushkin’s fairy tales./.
