Ancient inscriptions in My Son Sanctuary to be translated into English and Vietnamese

Accordingly, the Sanskrit inscriptions on steles at the My Son World Cultural Heritage in Duy Phu commune, Duy Xuyen district, in the central province of Quang Nam, will be translated. Specialists will study the steles and help Vietnam translate the epitaphs from Sanskrit, the ancient liturgical language of Hinduism, to Vietnamese and English. 

The project aims to aid the preservation of the sanctuary and shed light on the cultural, historical, religious and architectural values hidden in the towers for thousands years.

The complex has Sanskrit epitaphs engraved on 31 steles made of brick and stone, the main materials used in building the sanctuary./.
