Arts performances in Hanoi to be postponed due to state funeral

According to Hanoi city Department of Culture and Sports, artistic performances and entertainment activities scheduled for October 6th and 7th will be postponed due to the state funeral of former Party General Secretary Do Muoi.

During these two days, all State offices and public facilities will fly the national flag at half-mast and all entertainment activities will be stopped.

As scheduled, the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2018 was to take place at Thong Nhat Park from October 5th to 7th to introduce Hanoi’s cuisine legacy to locals and tourists. However, it will be organized from October 11th to 14th. The festival will recapture cultural spaces of craft villages associated with outstanding Hanoi foods, such as Hanoi Pho, Thanh Tri steamed roll rice pancakes, Vong and Me Tri green rice flakes, Quan Ganh rice cake, and Uoc Le pork pies. 

A special concert of the London Symphony Orchestra was scheduled to be held at Ly Thai To flower garden and pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake on the evening on October 6th. However, it will take place on the evening of October 5th, one day earlier than scheduled.

A special programme for children will be organized at Ly Thai To flower garden and pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake on October 14th, instead of October 7th./.
