Assuring dual goals in the 1010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi

The anniversary is an opportunity to honor and promote the outstanding cultural and historical values of this thousand-year-old civilized land, Heroic Capital, City for Peace and Creative City, to the capital public, the people of the country and international friends.

This is also an opportunity to promote traditional cultural dissemination for all strata of people, and encourage the spirit and responsibility in the construction and development of the Capital to be worthy of the people's love and trust.

At the meeting, representatives of organizations and units reported the progress of implementing programs, activities and events to celebrate 1010 years of Thang Long - Hanoi. The plan is expected to have 51 contents organized before, during and after the anniversary. Up to now, 37 contents have been carried out, ensuring the proposed plan. Eight contents were proposed to adjust and six contents were proposed for non-implementation.

Specifically, the highlight of the series of events and activities is the incense offering ceremony l of King Ly Thai To at Do Temple in Bac Ninh province, Hoa Lu ancient capital in Ninh Binh province and Thang Long Imperial Relics Site on Oct.9; Celebration of 1010 years of Thang Long - Hanoi (1010-2020) and the Patriotic Congress of Hanoi city in the period 2020-2025 on October 10.

Previously, seven exhibitions displaying books, photos and calligraphy were held. Six documentary films on Thang Long – Hanoi were introduced.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic with potential risks and complicated development, Mr. Quy requested that events, programs and activities fulfill the dual goal of honoring and at the same time ensuring epidemic prevention and control requirements, focusing on promoting vivid visual dissemination to create an atmosphere of excitement; exploiting the strength of technology to organize online events./.
