Bac Ninh province: Posthumously bestowing Vietnamese heroic mother title

Thai Bao commune People’s Committee, Gia Binh district, the northern province of Bac Ninh has held a ceremony to posthumously bestow the title Vietnamese heroic mother to Nguyen Thi Dinh.

On this occasion, representatives from the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper presented a gift to mother Dinh.

According to the organizing board, great grandmother Nguyen Thi Bam, born in 1890, is the mother of martyr Nguyen Van Thao and the mother-in-law of Nguyen Thi Dinh, was posthumously bestowed the title Vietnamese heroic mother in November 11th, 2014.  Her two sons, including Nguyen Van Thao and Nguyen Van Tho, sacrificed their lives in the struggle against the French colonialists.

Mother Nguyen Thi Dinh is martyr Thao’s wife. She had to raise three babies when Mr. Thao passed away. When they grew up, two of them joined the army. After the war, they returned as wounded soldiers, losing 91% and 82% of labor capacity.

On October 7th, 2016, State President Tran Dai Quang signed a decision to posthumously bestow the title Vietnamese heroic mother to Nguyen Thi Dinh./.
