The Ban Flower Festival 2018 is taking place in the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien from March 17th to 19th with diverse activities.

The festival honours and promotes the natural beauty, cultural heritage and ethnic groups of the province, and helps affirm the tourism trademark of Dien Bien and promote the Ban flower, which has become a symbol of the land and people of Dien Bien and the northwest region in general.
The opening ceremony drew the participation of more than 250 artists from different units, folk music preservation clubs, districts and the city. Other activities such as art performances, exhibitions on local tourism and ethnic culture, exchange, sports and folk games will be held.
The highlight of this year will be a fashion show on traditional costumes of Dien Bien’s ethnic groups, to introduce the traditional culture of ethnic groups in Vietnam and Dien Bien in particular./.
