Compiling Thai Xoe dance dossier to submit UNESCO

The northwestern Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee has sent a document to the Government, Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, the National Cultural Heritage Council and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on making dossier on Thai Xoe dance to submit UNESCO.

The unique type of traditional dance is associated with the life of Thai people in the northwest of Vietnam, especially the provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La and Yen Bai. It is performed during festivals community, funeral, cultural festivals, making friends and exchanges.
The arts was recognized as national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and was agreed to make dossier for UNESCO’s recognition as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity./.
