Dien Bien to restore Dien Bien Phu battlefield

The northern mountainous province of Dien Bien will invest VND5 billion from the budget in the 2016-2020 period to restore several relics at Dien Bien Phu battlefield and attract tourists on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory.

Restored relics will be Veterans Cultural Center at Hill E, Christian de Castries tunnel, the artillery pulling road, Noong Nhai meeting ground of the army soldiers to declare the victory, and the steel system at the relics and others.

According to vice director of Dien Bien provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dao Ngoc Luong, all restored relics are in the complex of the Dien Bien Phu battlefield relic sites. 

The restoration will contribute to renovating the landscape, beautifying the relic environment, ensuring project safety to attract tourists and looking to the 65th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory.

At the end of 2018 and in early 2019, the provincial cultural sector also restored some important vestiges in the Dien Bien Phu battlefield complex such as Muong Thanh battlefield, A1 Hill and Statue of Dien Bien Phu Victory./.
