On February 8th (the 23rd day of the last lunar month), artisans will instruct visitors, especially pupils, to make chung cake; do calligraphy writings and Dong Ho painting; enjoy folk games; study Vietnamese customs through erecting a Neu pole (a new year bamboo tree) by people from Co Loa commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi.

On February 24th and 25th (the 9th and 10th day of the first lunar month 2018), the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology will coordinate with Binh Phuoc provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a programme entitled “Happy Year of the Dog: The culture of Binh Phuoc”.

The event is expected to bring visitors closer to the culture of the southeastern Vietnamese province's specific cultural identities. The highlight of the programme will be gong performances, folk singing and Khome ethnic dances. Especially, visitors will have a chance to enjoy traditional dishes of the region.

During the event, there will be a traditional fireworks show to welcome a lucky and peaceful new year at 6p.m on February 24th (the 9th day of the first lunar month).

The programme will contribute to popularize regional culture to the public and preserve cultural heritage and beauty at the beginning of the spring, becoming a significant activity of the museum at the beginning of the year./.
