Diverse cultural activities to celebrate 25th anniversary of Vietnam - US relationship

DeVolder, Information and Culture Counselor, US Embassy in Vietnam, on the preparation for the 25th anniversary of Vietnam - US relations (1995-2020).

Speaking at the working session, Ms. Pam S DeVolder thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for its support for the activities of the US Embassy in Vietnam in the field of culture and arts.

The two sides expressed their hope to organize a series of program in 2020 while recalling the success of Vietnamese Cultural Days in US in Kennedy Center, Washington DC, and Historical Museum in New York to mark the 20th anniversary of Vietnam - US diplomatic ties in 2015.

They shared information and came up with ideas for a series of events to celebrate the 25th anniversary. Events will include large-scale symphony concerts in some provinces and cities in Vietnam, film week, seminar with female filmmakers and art exhibitions.

Ms Phuong Hoa wished to organize events which would promote tourism, introduce culture, arts, cinema and traditional foods of Vietnam in the US. She also asked the US Embassy to coordinate and support Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in organizing these events.

On this occasion, Counselor of the US Embassy in Vietnam also sent a logo design on celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vietnamese - US relations by the Vietnamese designer to the representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism./.
