Exhibition on Vietnam- Laos special relations in Hanoi

Nearly 400 photos and documents about the special relations between Vietnam and Laos through historical periods are on display at an exhibition which is being held in Hanoi.

The exhibition is held by the Office of the Party Central Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties (September 5th) and 40 years since the signing the bilateral Treaty on Amity and Cooperation (July 18th).

The event is divided into three main sections according to development period of the history. The first one is about the history of Vietnam - Laos relationship and the establishment of diplomatic ties.

The second is about Vietnam-Laos special solidarity in the cause of national construction and development from 1977 to 1986, especially the bilateral Treaty on Amity and Cooperation, and bilateral cooperation in the first years of addressing war consequences.

The third is about Vietnam-Laos special solidarity and traditional friendship over the past of 30 years of renovation (from 1987 to 2017). This part captures visits by leaders of the two countries’ Parties and States to elevate the bilateral cooperation to a new height across politics, external affairs, security, defence, economics, culture, society, education and training; and recognizes the contribution of leaders of two countries’ Parties and States in the preservation and promotion of Vietnam - Laos special relations.

The exhibition will run until September 15th, 2017./.
