The reinstatement of the highland market to welcome the New Year will be the highlight in December activities at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi.

The activity will draw the participation of 150 people, actors, actresses and artists from the Mong ethnic group from Ha Giang, Kho Mu from Nghe An, Thai from Son La, Tay and Nung from Thai Nguyen, Muong from Hoa Binh, O Du from Nghe An, Dao from Hanoi, Ta Oi and Co Tu from Thua Thien Hue, Cong from Dien Bien and artists from Vietnam National Academy of Music.

Apart from introducing traditional crafts of Mong and Cong in Dien Bien province and tea culture in Thai Nguyen province, new year festival of Cong ethnic group in Dien Bien will be reinstated.

The event is celebrated by Cong people after the final work of the crop. This is an occasion for the Cong ethnic community to honor the origin of the ancestors, and honor cultural beauty of their religious traditions, marking a year closing and preparing for a peaceful and lucky new year.

At the weekend, there are many interesting tourism activities at the Village, introducing the culture, customs and practices of 15 ethnic minorities./.
