Hue culture to be introduced at Hanoi Old Quarter

From November 23rd to December 2nd, the Management of Hanoi Old Quarter will organize diverse activities to introduce the charm of Hue Imperial City’s culture to celebrate Vietnam Heritage Day (November 23rd).

Accordingly, on November 23rd, a show featuring Ao dai designs and traditional music of Vietnam’s North and Central regions will be staged in front of the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Centre at No.50 Dao Duy Tu street, Hoan Kiem district.


A musical event next day will feature beautiful melodies of northern folk music as well as ancient tunes of Hue royal court music, following by a collection of Hue traditional costumes of Doctor Thai Kim Lan and a collection of instrumentals of Hue royal court music.

Visitors can travel to Kim Ngan Communal House (No.42 and No.44 Hang Bac street) to enjoy a seminar on the worshipping of ancestors of traditional handicrafts and an exhibition on traditional villages in association with their worship. Besides, typical features of Vietnamese tea and bonsai are also hoped to win their hearts.

Activities are hoped to preserve heritage values, promote tourism, popularize the image of Hanoi Old Quarter in particular and the capital in general; and strengthen cooperation among the nation’s localities that have heritages, organizations and individuals in sharing experience in the preservation and promotion of the national intangible cultural heritages and world heritages./.
