K-Food Fair to convene in Ho Chi Minh city from September 8th-11th

(CPV) - The Republic of Korea will introduce its traditional foods at the 2016 K-Food Fair in Ho Chi Minh city from September 8th-11th.


The event is co-organised by the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Korean Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT).

From September 8th-9th, at GEM Centerre (No.8 Nguyen Binh Khiem, Da Kao war, District 1), as many as 30 Korean exporterand 60 Vietnamese and regional food importers will gather to discuss ways to access the Vietnamese food market and promote K-food.

Vietnamese connoisseurs will have chance to sample several popular Korean foods such as kimbap (steamed white rice and various other ingredients, rolled in sheets of dried seaweed) and bibimbap (warm white rice topped with vegetable, chilli paste, a raw or fried egg and sliced beef) by visiting the 23/9 Park from September 10th-11th.

A representative from MAFRA expressed hope that the 4-day event will help expand markets for Korean food and agricultural products in the ASEAN nations, including Vietnam.

As part of the program “Living healthy with your tasty K-food”, several art shows by Vietnamese and the Republic of Korea’s artists will be organized.

First introduced in 2013, the K-Food festival has been held in many countries, receiving warm response. Similar events are scheduled to take place in other ASEAN nations, such as Thailand and Malaysia, at the end of this year./.
