Lao students study Vietnam-Laos friendship and cooperation

A contest on the Vietnam-Laos friendship and comprehensive cooperation has taken place in Vientiane, Laos, with the participation of students aged from 9 to 18 from 32 schools in Vientiane.

The activity was held by the Vientiane Capital Youth union in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh city, and several Vietnamese and Lao companies.

It was an opportunity for the youth in the capital Vientiane to study more about Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam comprehensive cooperation and special friendship and solidarity to mark the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017, 55 years of the countries’ diplomatic relations and 40 years since the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

Addressing at the event, vice secretary of the Vientiane Capital Youth Union Sukmaly Thammavonge said that the activity aimed to help young people in Laos understand the mutual special relationship and cooperation, and motivate them to improve knowledge and strive their best to follow examples of the previous generations for national construction and preservation.

Participants from 32 troupes passed four rounds with nearly 130 questions on the history of the relations; Uncle Ho’s activities in Laos; the founding anniversary of diplomatic relations; the day of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation; common border and border gates; Vietnamese and Lao National Day; and the relationships between Vietnam-Laos and ASEAN countries./.
