Mid-autumn festival at Thang Long Imperial Citadel

Children can experience diverse activities for Mid-autumn festival at Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi from September 19th to 23rd.

Activities will include decorations for the festival, folk games, toy-making activities and water puppetry performances.

There will be also an exchange with historians and artisans on legends of the festival at Thang Long Palace in the past and education of environmental protection through paper toys.

In recent years, Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center has coordinated with UNESCO Office in Hanoi, Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences and experts to organize heritage education activities for students. In 2017, more than 2,600 students from secondary schools and 1,300 from primary schools participated in the programme to study about Thang Long Imperial Citadel; over 18,000 children experienced Mid-autumn festival and Tet at the site under the regular programme.

In 2018, the education programme on Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Co Loa Relics Site is promoted thanks the cooperation with Hanoi education and training sector. Accordingly, schools will make plan and coordinate with the center to take students to study and experience the citadel at a suitable time in the year. This is an extracurricular program in association with the history subject to help children understand and love the history and traditional culture of the nation./.
