Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism well served 12th National Party Congress

According to a report of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the first half of 2016, diverse culture, arts and sports activities to welcome the success of the 12th National Party Congress were held nationwide, creating a jubilant atmosphere among people. Artistic troupes toured for performances to serve people in remote and mountainous areas, in islands and border areas, during Tet 2016 as well as provide cultural enjoyment for local people, contributing to implementing the task of ensuring social security.

In addition, cultural activities to disseminate the 12th National Party Congress and the election of the 14th NA and People’s Council at all levels for the 2016-2021 tenure were done well, contributing to the success of the organization of the great national event during the January - June period.

Over the past six months, three additional relics were recognized as national relics; 14 relics were proposed to the Prime Minister for special national relic status; and 24 intangible cultural heritages were listed as national intangible heritage.

The Ministry also instructed localities to make profiles on Then singing of the Tay and Thai ethnic minority groups, and Xoan singing in Phu Tho province, to submit to UNESCO. Vietnam also collaborates with the Republic of Korea and other countries to prepare a multi-national bid seeking UNESCO recognition of the lacquer craft as a world cultural heritage.

In addition, Vietnamese Cultural Days in the Russian Federation were also organized. Communications in the field of family has been promoted on mass media, especially activities to mark the International Day of Happiness (March 20th) and the 15th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (June 28th)./.
