Mu Cang Chai terraced fields proposed as special national beautiful landscape

The northern Yen Bai provincial People's Committee is compiling a scientific dossier on Mu Cang Chai terraced fields to submit to the Prime Minister for recognition of special national beautiful landscape.

The dossier compilation aims to identify and determine the terraced fields’ values in the life of the community, especially Mong ethnic people in Yen Bai province.
The compilation will be conducted according to two phases. In the first phase, the province will make field trips, investigate, interview, record, take photos, film and collect information related to the terraced fields in six communes, including La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha, De Su Phinh, Cao Pha, Mo De and Lao Chai.
Later on, it will complete the dossier according to Circular 09/2011/TT-BVHTTDL dated July 14th, 2011 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the content of scientific documents to the list of cultural and historical relics and beautiful landscapes.
Mu Cang Chai terraced fields were recognized as national relics in 2007./.
