New Year celebration of H’mong ethnic group in Hanoi

A New Year celebration of the H’mong ethnic group will take place at Hanoi University of Culture at No.418 De La Thanh street on January 13th, as an annual cultural event to welcome the New Year of the Hmong community living and studying in Hanoi.

The event aims to promote the specific culture of H’mong people; and create conditions for all H’mong students to celebrate the traditional lunar New Year when away from their families. Besides, performances of H’mong ethnic folk singing and musical instruments reflects the daily activities, customs, love of couples, enthusiasm for music, and love for the nation and the homeland of H’mong ethnic people.

A show of ethnic costumes will introduce skill, sophistication and understanding of the H’mong ethnic culture, luring many H’Mong students nationwide.

Apart from enjoying folk games and Tet atmosphere, there will be pavilions introducing brocade, clothes, musical instruments and foods staffed by H’mong ethnic people./.
