Vietnamese film director Nguyen Hoang Diep was invited to be judge at the 30th Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) which took place from March 11th - 19th in Fribourg.

The program featured 126 films from 62 countries. The individual parallel sections are focusing on films made by women and/or telling women’s stories.
The FIFF is an annual film festival in Fribourg, Switzerland, focusing on selected cultural films from Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Diep was the only Vietnamese representative among four female judges in the category for foreign films.
“Dap Canh Giua Khong Trung” (Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere), the debut feature film by Nguyen Hoang Diep, earned the Special Mention Award at the 29th Fribourg International Film Festival.
The annual Swiss event has been organized since 1992. The next edition will take place from March 31st to April 8th, 2017./.
