The 14th cultural, sports, and tourism festival of ethnic minority groups in the northwestern region 2019 will take place in Son La city from August 18th to 20th.

It will draw the participation of Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Son La provinces.
Diverse activities such as incense offering incense at the Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial at Son La prison; photo exhibition on culture and tourism; photo exhibition on ethnic groups in the northwestern region; tours in Son La province; introduction of local traditional culture and special foods; mass artistic performances of ethnic groups in the region; show on ethnic costumes, sports and folk games will be held.
The event hopes to promote tourism in Son La, raise awareness of the importance of preserving ethnic culture, and reinforce the solidarity between various ethnic communities.
The opening ceremony will be held in the evening of August 18th at Son La provincial Conference Center and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television./.
