Over 1,000 artists participate in Vietnam International Choir Competition

More than 1,000 artists have participated in the Vietnam International Choir Competition which kicked off on June 7th in the ancient city of Hoi An.

The event is being co-organized by Germany’s Interkultur Organisation and Hoi An city People’s Committee as part of the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival. The festival, running until June 11th, promotes the culture, heritage and tourism potential of Quang Nam while introducing unique types of choir performances to the public. It is also a chance for Vietnamese artists to exchange performance experience with international choirs.

Members of 32 choirs from 10 countries and territories around the world, artists compete in different categories, meeting the strict requirements of choral performance and featuring the unique identities of their countries.

In the framework of the event, the artists will also perform in a program named “International Melody” on June 8th and 9th. Exchange programs between Hoi An city and artistic troupes from the Republic of Korea will be held./.
