The contest was launched by Vietnam Intellectual Cooperation Center, and the Hanoi Departments of Education and Training, Information and Communications, and Culture and Sports.

The contest is hoped to awaken aspiration for book reading and encourage the spread of reading culture in the community.

Contestants write a paper introducing the book they love the most and answer the question “If you are selected as an Ambassador of Reading Culture of the Capital City in the 2017-2018 academic year, what will you do to encourage others to read more books?”. They can send more than one entry in either written form or video clip and in Vietnamese or English language as well.

The award ceremony is expected to take place on May 26th.

In 2016, the contest attracted over 10,000 entries in both Vietnamese and English./.
