The event was organized to commemorate the Vietnamese Family Day on June 28th.

The contest aims to acknowledge and emphasize the importance of shared responsibility for family and domestic life, with the ambition to increase gender equality in the Vietnamese society.

Nguyen Huu Thong from Hanoi won the first prize for his photo “Divide the work”, taken during a business trip to the central coastal province of Quang Binh. Thong explained that although the husband in the photo is disable, he still helps his wife in all daily household activities and their small house near the rice field is filled with happiness.

According to the Embassy of Sweden, the first, second and third prize are worth VND10 million, VND8 million and VND7 million, respectively.

While the first and the second prize were selected by a jury board, the third prize was selected by a vote among the online community via Facebook.

The “Facebook Favorite” prize was selected by social media users.

In addition, more than 30 of the most beautiful photos of the contest are being displayed at an exhibition with the same theme at the Vietnam’s Women Museum.

The exhibition will run until July 31st, 2017./.
