Programme on Hanoi's memory to celebrate 65th anniversary of capital liberation

The programme entitled “Memory of Hanoi – 65 years” will take place at the mural space of Phung Hung street from October 3rd to 11th together with other activities at relics sites in Hanoi’s old quarter.
It is part of a series of activities to mark the 65th anniversary of the capital liberation (October 10th) and 20 years since Hanoi’s recognition as a city for peace by UNESCO.

The Organizing Committee will recreate the image of Hanoi in 1954 on the wall of Phung Hung mural paintings by models, introducing the Hanoi army to the capital; set the context of Hanoi in the days of October 1954, with artillery, ammunition, command bunkers, trucks, and flower counters welcoming the soldiers.

In particular, 200 members of the military band, and actors and students from Hanoi Academy of Theater and Cinema will recreate the scene of the army heading to Hanoi, the people waving flowers to welcome soldiers and flower delivery. Banners, posters and flags will be hang at railings of families on Phung Hung street.

On this occasion, many excellent collections by Hanoi designers will be presented and introduced to the public at 15:00 on October 5th, in the framework of the fashion show "Colors of Hanoi 2019".

In addition, a painting exhibition on autumn in Hanoi will be held at at the Hanoi Old Quarter Culture Exchange Center at No.50 Dao Duy Tu street. 37 artworks by 14 painters will reflect the beautiful landscapes and Vietnamese people. Especially, sketches on revolutionary war and Vietnamese sodilers will be exhibited.

40 photos on Hanoi by photographer Le Bich will be displayed at Kim Ngan Communal House at 42 Hang Bac street  from October 4th to 15th./.
