Rong house inauguration at Festival of Central Highlands Gongs 2018

The inauguration ceremony of Rong House has taken place place in Rong village, Hoa Lu ward, Pleiku city, Gia Lai province.
For residents of the North Central Highlands in general, the inauguration of a Rong house is considered the largest festival of the Bahnar rituals.
It is an opportunity for all villagers to fulfill their promises and pay tribute to the gods for their assistance to the village community.
While performing the ritual, the village patriarch will pray, asking for the spirits to continue to help the community to be healthy, peaceful and have a bountiful upcoming season. The villagers usually use two pigs, three chickens, and five to six rubles of wine to sacrifice to the gods in this ritual.
Each household often contributes a jar of wine to the columns of the house to share the joy of the villagers.
