Vietnam is among the first three countries in the world, besides Poland and Canada, to screen “Loving Vincent”.

Written and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman and taking six years to complete, “Loving Vincent” brings the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh to life to tell his remarkable story.

Every one of the 65,000 frames of the film is an oil painting hand-painted by 125 professional painters, who travelled from all across the world to the Loving Vincent studios in Poland and Greece to be part of the production.

According to Loving Vincent’s official website, 200 of these paintings will be available for sale after the movie’s release.

Set in France in the summer of 1891, it follows the journey of Armand Roulin, a young man given a letter by his father to hand-deliver to Theo van Gogh, Vincent’s brother, in Paris. Here, after hearing the life story of Vincent, Armand sets out to find the reason for the artist’s death, and travels to the quiet village of Auvers-sur-Oise, where Vincent spent the last years of his life.

Vincent Van Gogh, born 1853, was a Dutch artist in the Post-Impressionism movement. His best works include ‘The Starry Night’, ‘Café Terrace at Night’, and several self-portraits. He passed away in 1890, succumbing to a self-inflicted gunshot wound./.
