Special art programme celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday

A special art programme entitled “Ho Chi Minh, shining the will of Vietnam” took place in the evening of May 18th in five localities to celebrate the 130th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19th).

The was broadcast live at the same time in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang, the central province of Nghe An, and southern province of Dong Thap.

It was held by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, the Vietnam Television and the five localities with the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man, among others.

President Ho Chi Minh was born on May 19, 1890, in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province. He devoted his whole life to the cause of national liberation, while tirelessly striving for peace and progress around the world.

He also led the struggle for national independence and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in 1945. The President passed away in 1969.
