The 5th Cham culture, sports and tourist festival to take place in August

Under the theme “Preserving and promoting the culture of Cham ethnic people to meet requirements of national sustainable development", the 5th Cham culture, sports and tourist festival will take place in the central province of Phu Yen from August 13th to 16th.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the highlight of the event will be the opening ceremony in association with the award of Nhan tower as special national relics in the evening of August 14th in Tuy Hoa city.

In addition, diverse activities will be held, including mass artistic performance, show of traditional clothes, exhibition on socio-economic development achievements in Cham-ethnic inhabited area, performance of traditional dishes and folk festivals, sports games, field trips to tourist areas in the province and workshop to connect tours and tourism destinations in Phu Yen and other south central provinces.

The festival is a cultural activity, reflecting the Party and State's interest in ethnic community in general and Cham people in particular. It will create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for Cham and local people to participate in.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with Phu Yen provincial People's Committee to prepare for the festival carefully, expressing the spirit of great solidarity of Cham community throughout the country./.
