Three literature works on Vietnam - Laos friendship published

The Literature Publishing House has published three works on the struggles of Vietnamese people’s army against the French colonialists and the American empire, including “Duong ve Canh Dong Chum”, “Thuong Lao ky su” and “Vung troi thung”.

The work “Duong ve Canh Dong Chum” (Road to Chum Field) by writer Bui Dinh Thi consists of 14 chapters. It depicts the difficult struggle of the Lao revolutionary people liberation army and expresses the determination and sacrifice of Lao soldiers.

The work “Thuong Lao ky su” (Upper Laos Chronicle) by Ha Dinh Can, translated by Le Thu Huyen, covers the two periods of the struggle by Vietnamese volunteers with Lao soldiers and people, and the battle field in the past.

The novel “Vung troi thung” (Pierced Airspace) by Kieu Vuong, translated by Bui Thi Ngoc Dung, was inspired by the opening of the Vietnam - Laos friendship road, connecting the west of Thanh Hoa province of Vietnam to the east of Hua Phan province of Laos.

The publication marks the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties (September 5th) and 40 years since the signing of the bilateral Treaty on Amity and Cooperation (July 18th)./.
