Trinh Cong Son pedestrian street to operate from October 10th

Trinh Cong Son pedestrian street near West Lake in Hanoi will be opened on October 10th to coincide with the celebration of 63rd anniversary of capital liberation (October 10th).

According to Tay Ho district People's Committee, Trinh Cong Son street, named after the famous late composer, will be the core of the walking space, also covering Alley 431 on Au Co street and Alley 612 on Lac Long Quan road.

The idea of turning the street into a pedestrian area with space dedicated to art performances and food stalls has received support from most of the 300 households living along the street.

Earlier, when the street was named after composer Trinh Cong Son, several events related to Trinh Cong Son music were held. Many street artists and lovers of Trinh Cong Son music also went the street to organize warm and close music events.

The street will be opened every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can listen to Trinh Cong Son music in cafes along the road with prices from VND10,000 to VND20,000. The Tay Ho district People’s Committee will also establish a gastronomy area to introduce special dishes of Hanoi and organize a stage for Trinh and folk music performances.

Trinh Cong Son (28/02/1939-01/4/2001) was one of the greatest songwriters of Vietnam in modern times. He composed an estimated 600 songs, most of which are love songs. He is also known as an amateur poet and painter./.
